A master of dialects and Boston characters, Steve Sweeney is so thoroughly Bostonian he ought to have his own stop on the Green Line.

He sharpened his craft at the legendary Ding Ho in Cambridge alongside Lenny Clarke, Denis Leary, Jay Leno and the rest of the Boston comedy boom — and earned his status the old-fashioned way. He starred in his own Boston sitcom, Park Street Under, and has been featured on Letterman, Evening at the Improv, Comics Come Home, and Comedy Central.

His characters — Fitzy, Jimmy, Mary Ellen, the Old Man — are Boston institutions in their own right.
